This scholarship is intended to help young men who will be attending Georgia Tech for the 2008-2009 school year. We feel that due to the rising costs of education, organizations in our position have a responsibility to reach out and assist fellow students in meeting their educational goals. Four $500 scholarships will be awarded to four incoming students. The recipients of these awards will be chosen based on their personal and academic qualities, as they relate to the founding principles of Delta Upsilon. You do not need to join the Delta Upsilon Fraternity or any other Greek institution to be considered for the scholarship. Delta Upsilon seeks to improve our community through the promotion of scholarship and character development of future leaders.
The application process is simple. Please complete the enclosed application form located here and include the following information:
• A copy of your high school transcript and SAT and/or ACT scores.
• An activity sheet or resume that tells us a bit about you and your involvement both in and out of class. The format is not important, please organize the information however you deem appropriate. Tell us what you like to do for fun and what your hobbies and other interests are; we are just as interested in what you do outside of class.
• A short essay on the topics provided. There is no length requirement.
Please send your application and the requested information to the address listed above. Applications must be postmarked by April 25, 2008 for consideration. Finalists will be contacted for a brief and informal interview in order to meet the candidates so that we will better be able to select the recipients of the two scholarships. If you have any questions about the scholarship, Georgia Tech, the various housing options, class scheduling, or anything else, please do not hesitate to give us a call, we are happy to help you. We know what it is like to be in your position and are glad to answer questions, give a campus tour, and show you the academic, social, and athletic activities available to you here at Georgia Tech.
This scholarship is open exclusively to men entering Georgia Tech and is only being offered within the state. Because of this, we strongly urge you to apply; it will probably only take a few minutes of your time and may be well worth the effort.
